Pregnancy is one of the most exciting times in a woman’s life, growing and nurturing a new life is fulfilling, exhilarating and inspiring. It is a time of personal growth and reflection for the mother, not only on what is happening insider her, but also what will happen after the baby is born. What will the baby be like? What sort of a mother will I be? Will I be able to cope?
Although pregnancy is a completely natural occurrence, it is nothing short of a miracle, and as a result, women will notice huge changes both physically and emotionally.
It’s not surprising therefore, that pregnancy can also be one of the most challenging times in a woman’s life, and often one when she is likely to turn to natural, safe therapies to help her through, and to minimize, any possible harm to her unborn child.
Many women wonder whether it is safe to have acupuncture during pregnancy, in fact because acupuncture treats holistically is perfect as a safe, natural, form of treatment that is free from side effects.
Our life energy (or qi in Chinese Medicine) is responsible for nourishing our bones, internal organs, and tissues: as pregnancy progresses, huge physiological changes take place throughout the body and can cause our energy to become blocked or deficient which makes us feel unwell, physically or emotionally. Acupuncture works by bringing the body back into balance and making us feel healthy again, each person will have acupuncture points chosen for their own individual needs.
